It is with profound sadness that we join in letting you know that a great man, Paul Leader, has passed in San Diego County. Paul was the President and principal owner of El Cajon Ford since 1980. The following quote is from the Bass Council of SD website: "From humble beginnings on the back streets of Canada, he rose to success in western America as a prominent business man and entrepreneur."
Paul was always involved in causes that promoted the welfare and achievements of young people, giving to numerous charities including the Lakeside Rodeo, Lakeside Optimist, the San Diego Chargers Blood Drive and so many, many more. Paul Leader was a Champion for the Youth of East County. He served as the first San Diego County Chairman of the Ford Motor Company’s Salute to Education scholarship program.

Paul was renown across America for his support of bass fishing and was called “the Godfather” of local bass fishing. He was enshrined in the San Diego Hall of Champions in Balboa Park in 2002, charter inductee of the San Diego Bass Fishing Hall of Fame by the San Diego Council of Bass Clubs. Paul Leader is one of only 9 members of the San Diego Bass Fishing Hall of Fame,

Paul's family, in accordance with his wishes, has asked that in lieu of flowers, we all consider donating to:
Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation c/o San Diego Private Bank

La Jolla, CA 92036
Attn: Paul Azzi

Please take a few moments out of your day on Sunday to stop by and let's show his family how we honor such a giving and amazing man.
