2020 was a year of epic changes that affected all of us... As a community nonprofit we were faced with the loss of events at the facility that earned funds for the Youth of Lakeside. The Pandemic hit as we were finalizing some of the facility upgrades that were required.

We lost our annual event, "The Lakeside Rodeo", which is held in April, when the County of San Diego cancelled all permitted events. We struggled to refund tickets quickly but were pleasantly surprised by how many patrons instructed us to "keep my purchase as a donation for the Youth of Lakeside". One after another, the donations of the 2020 Lakeside Rodeo ticket pre-purchases mounted and we felt that we could weather the start of this pandemic.

The months rolled by and we struggled to find a way to stay financially solvent. Eventually, we were permitted to host a few Food Truck events and an Open Air Craft Fair and once again some patrons made donations to our nonprofit.

The end of 2020 has brought hope to our collective volunteer hearts as science has given us hope for the future. We hope that this leads to being able to gather and once again offer our facility for rentals, private parties, business events and fairs.

Because of YOU, our beloved community, followers and patrons, we are ending 2020 as a viable facility and we remain an all volunteer organization still dedicated to our Mission... Thanks to all of you, we look forward to 2021 and remaining in Support of The Youth of Lakeside.
