Due to the retirement in 2020 of Announcer Don Jesser, 2021 will bring a new Rodeo Announcer to the Lakeside Rodeo arena, Reed Flake.
Reed and Amy Flake live in the beautiful countryside of Snowflake, Arizona. Reed has been announcing rodeos and bull ridings for over 30 years and Amy travels alongside Reed as the professional Arena Sound Person who provides specialized music while Reed is announcing the rodeo action.
"Reed Flake grew up working cattle and horses for his family ranch. Later he went to Ricks College where he received a degree in ranch management...
He has announced events such as the National High School Finals Rodeo, the National Jr. High Finals Rodeo, the Turquoise Circuit Finals, the USTRC Finals, the George Strait Team Roping and the Bob Feist Team Roping. Along with his announcing abilities Reed also works with his uncle Keith Flake producing videos for Rodeo Video and leasing cattle for team ropings and other events.
His latest adventure is the Rodeo Video YouTube channel which highlights what he does on a daily basis, sharing the Cowboy way of life with the world. Whether Reed is behind a microphone or talking to you in person he will put you at ease and make you feel comfortable, as if he has known you for years.
Reed and his wife, Amy, reside in Snowflake Arizona, where they have lived for most of their 36-year marriage. Reed and Amy spend much of their time on the road. Amy stays busy while on the road by timing PRCA rodeos, team roping events and her favorite, playing music for the rodeos and bull ridings.
They have three children, all of which are married, and seven grandchildren."
